Gender Affirming Training

Trans, two spirit, non binary, and gender diverse people often experience barriers to accessing care and services that they need. Gender affirming training presents helping professionals and service providers with a foundation of understanding, information and strategy to provide informed services and safer, more accessible and welcoming spaces for trans and gender diverse people, their families and loved ones.

Language, definitions, fundamental concepts, barriers to accessing care and allyship are all explored, as well as reliable resources provided. Self-reflective and experiential opportunities that anchor the learning material are facilitated with compassion and professionalism.

"People of all sexes have the right to explore femininity, masculinity and the infinite variations between without criticism or ridicule." - Leslie Feinberg

I am a queer and genderqueer therapist in private practice, who has had the privilege of working with queer, trans and gender diverse individuals, families and 2SLGBTQ+ community for over 13 years. My interest and commitment is to traverse beyond awareness and inclusion, and into the reaches of acceptance and true celebration of diversity. I have been facilitating gender affirming training for care providers in social services, health care, community organizations, school districts, municipal government and local businesses for the past 6 years in B.C.
